Biography:

A long time ago, in 1985,a girl named Crystal was born in Yellowknife of the Northwest Territories. Along with her brother Crystal spent most of her time outdoors when she had the time. Crystal quickly taught herself safety skills and used them when she set off on her own exploring. One day Crystal and her brother were playing on the ice of the Great Slave Lake. Suddenly without them knowing they went to a spot were it had said “THIN ICE” but it was covered with snow, so they couldn’t see it. They went on the thin ice without knowing and suddenly, the ice beneath them cracked revealing The Great Slave Lake. Crystal quickly jumped onto a piece of floating ice but her brother couldn’t find a piece to jump onto. Crystal tried to save him, but unfortunately it was too late. A few days later, the whole family went to the funeral of their beloved family member.

Weeks after the funeral, Crystal remembered she saw a sparkling gem floating in the water. She went back to the lake, and there it was a great bright blue diamond. She picked it up took out a ribbon from her pocket and put it around her neck. She found out that the gem she found wasn’t just a normal gem, but it was a special gem that would give her ice and water powers.

Exactly 1 month after the funeral Crystal ran away from home because her parents kept blaming her for her brother’s death. Crystal bought an apartment in Toronto right after she flew to there. After 1 week, Crystal called and told her parents that she was safe in Toronto. Crystal also told them that she would remain living there for a long time, and maybe never come back to the Northwest Territories. They were pretty sad but they came to visit her 3 weeks later. Normally, Crystal is emotional because she thinks she caused her brother’s death. Crystal doesn’t like talking about her past, but is very happy now because of her new job as a journalist. She likes spending most of her time alone wherever she can find peace and quiet or sometimes in the city where she can just enjoy her daily life. While at her office, she started reading some articles about Team Epic. She quickly began to gain interest in the team and started researching about them. One day someone came in and stole some of their cameras of and very important files. Crystal remembered she could call Team Epic, so she quickly dialed their number and told them everything. Captain Epic thanked her and told her that they would be there in a minute. After they finally caught the robber, Crystal told them that she has powers too, and they quickly invited her to join the team. Automatically she said yes. Crystal now helps Team Epic and is finally glad that she did something right.
