Biography:

Melanie was brought up in an average household. Well… almost average. She was the oldest of 4 children. One was named Jeff-Xavier, another Jocelyn, and the youngest Nickroso. It was also sort of hard for her being the only witch out of 4 children. Her parents knew about her powers, since her great- grandmothers both on her father and mother’s side were both witches as well.

As a child Melanie would visit her great- grandmothers in the summer. Her great grandmothers would invite her over to practice witchcraft. The older she got, the stronger she would become a witch. On her 13th birthday her great- grandmothers bought her a wand. 
It was made out of phoenix feather, ancient oak, and petal of the trillium flower. One day as Melanie was trying to find a formula to cure cancer in her science class for extra marks, something in the formula went wrong. She put too much Zanternite and it made a chemical reaction and so, because of this she got her extra powers (at this point everyone escaped the room and the school while Melanie was inside).

Melanie is a child prodigy, and because of this she has no friends. People in her school know that she is a genius and constantly have her do their homework. She feels that she can’t refuse because she desperately wants to have friends and she has a hard time saying,“No”. Her school thinks she is weird only because she would mumble out spells after she was done her work (school work that is). She knows that these people are not true friends and seeks for friendship outside of her school. This is when she learns about team Epic and decides to join the team and use her powers for good and justice in the city.

Melanie comes from a strong Canadian heritage. Sir John A. MacDonald was her great-great-great grandfather. 3 more generations later Andrew John Macdonald had a daughter who’s name was Melanie Macdonald. Because of Melanie’s background and experiences in high school, she wants to stand up for all those people whose voices go unheard. She enrolled at the University of Toronto in political science with the intention of one-day becoming a great lawyer and making a difference in the world.
